Explore the beautiful region of Catalonia on this 5-day trip from Madrid, where you’ll travel to the gorgeous cities of Barcelona, Montserrat, Vic, Girona, Figueres, Tarragona and Sitges.
Visit Barcelona, whose astounding Gothic architecture resonates in such famous sites as Gaudi’s La Sagrada Familia. Enjoy guided tours of Montserrat and Vic and admire their magnificent cathedrals and Renaissance and Baroque buildings. In Figueres, the hometown of surrealist artist Salvador Dali, enjoy a guided tour of Dali Museum to admire his most famous works.
In Girona, enjoy a guided walking tour of the Jewish quarter, one of the best-preserved in Europe. During your guided tour in Tarragona, you'll feel as if you’ve journeyed back to the days of the ancient Romans. Travel to southern Catalonia to coastal Sitges, the historical fishing village with a quaint Mediterranean atmosphere, and then visit the impressive Roman amphitheater in Tarragona.
Four nights of accommodation in superior hotels, several meals, entrance fees and transportation are all included.

Day 1: Madrid – Barcelona
On arrival at Puerta de Atocha train station in Madrid, board your train to Barcelona. From here, your journey takes no more than 3 hours and thirty minutes. On arrival into Barcelona, meet your guide and travel to your hotel. Perhaps head into town for dinner at your own expense).

Day 2: Barcelona – Vic – Figueres – Girona (B, D)
After breakfast at your hotel, relax on the drive to Vic, an ancient settlement that still preserves cultural customs of the Middle Ages. Follow your guide on a sightseeing tour and visit the market before enjoying some free time for lunch (own expense). Continue to Figueres for your tour of Dali Museum, one of the largest surrealist museums in the world. The exhibition space is home to many of Salvador Dali’s most famous works, and your guide will explain the most notable masterpieces as you walk around. In the evening, relax on your journey to Girona, and then check in to your hotel in time for dinner.

Day 3: Girona – Montserrat – Sitges (B, D)
Start your morning with breakfast at your hotel and enjoy a guided tour of Girona. Visit the Jewish quarter and view the exterior of Girona Cathedral. Repeatedly rebuilt and altered throughout centuries, this cathedral features one of Europe's widest Gothic naves.
After lunch (own expense), depart for Montserrat, a mountain-top town shaped by the oceans. Follow your guide on a tour of the Benedictine monastery, and gaze out over the mountains over to the Pyrenees and, even, Mallorca.
In the evening, proceed to Sitges for dinner and enjoy an overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 4: Sitges – Tarragona (B, D)
After breakfast, spend your morning in Sitges, the charming Catalan coastal village. Take a guided tour of the beautiful beaches along the ‘Route of the Americans;’ admire the buildings’ stylish architecture; and use your free time to discover the alluring charm of Sitges' cobbled streets and whitewashed fishermen's houses.
Find the perfect spot for a peaceful seaside lunch (own expense) before departing for the Roman city of Tarragona in the afternoon. Here, enjoy free time to ogle the town's countless attractions including the Roman amphitheater that boasts stellar ocean views.
In the evening, head to your hotel in Tarragona for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Tarragona - Santes Creus - Barcelona (B, L)
Enjoy breakfast in your hotel in Tarragona before heading to the Monastery of Santa Maria de Santes Creus for your tour. This 12th-century Cistercian monastery is the only monastery of the Cister Route with no monastic life.
After enjoying a traditional lunch (included), head to Bodegas Torres wine cellars or Cava Freixenet for a wine tour. Learn about the region's fabulous wines; enjoy a complimentary wine tasting; and feel free to buy any wine you like. Afterward, you'll be taken back to Barcelona, where your 5-day tour will end.
