What will you find?

If you want to make the most of Barcelona's cultural highlights, upgrade your tour and start earlier, at 10am, with a skip-the-line tour of Palau de la Musica. Built in the early 1900s, this gorgeous performance venue is one of the finest examples of Modernist architecture in the city, and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk through the incredible concert hall, gazing in awe at its outstanding stained-glass skylight on a 45-minute tour.

Alternatively, meet your guide and the earlier group at 10:45am in the foyer of Palau de la Musica, and start your morning with coffee. Then take a stroll through Barcelona’s liveliest market -- Mercat de Santa Caterina -- where you'll take part in an olisoliva (olive oil tasting) with a local trader. Pass through Plaza de Sant Marcus, and walk along Barcelona’s famous Montcada Street, where the highlight of your day awaits – the Picasso Museum.

Before heading inside, your guide will give you all the gossip on Pablo Picasso’s life in Spain. Hear how the world-famous artist lived in Barcelona as an apprentice, and learn how the city shaped his life’s work. Skip the entrance lines with your priority-access ticket for a 1-hour audio tour around the museum, seeing inspirational Picasso paintings like The First Communion and Science and Charity.

Continue through the bustling Plaza Reial for a quick look inside Barcelona Cathedral, admiring its Neo-Gothic façade. Stroll to Las Ramblas, and then take a quick train ride with your guide to Passeig de Gràcia, home to some of the city’s most eccentric buildings, like the incredible Casa Batlló.

Entrance to Casa Batlló is at your own expense, but you can purchase a discounted, skip-the-line ticket from your guide with a savings of 20%. Should you decide to enter, you won’t be disappointed, as a comprehensive 45-minute walking tour around this fantastic Modernist museum – designed by Antoni Gaudi – is included.

Alternatively, you can end your tour with a walk around Rambla de Catalunya instead, strolling in the tree-lined shade and checking out the street’s chic independent shops.

Reviews & Ratings

  1. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THIS REVIEW!!!!!!! Amazingly, this tour turned out to be a great success thanks to one of the employees of Barcelona Guide Out Travel. We reached our meeting place for the tour only to find that our tour guide had called in sick and that our tour had been canceled. (We were the only ticket holders who could not be reached by cell phone in Barcelona). An amazing young employee named Olga Gonzalez, however, saved the day by getting tickets to the Palau de la Musica for us -- an amazing sight and a great tour. And then, because she could not secure tickets to the Picasso Museum without accompanying us, walked us to the Picasso Museum, which we probably could not have found by ourselves. She is a delightful young lady, friendly, helpful, and kind, and we appreciated her help so much. We would appreciate your commending her for us. The C.E.O. of Barcelona Guide Out is Robert Craig. Please notify him of our gratitude.
  2. What a treat. The Palau de la Musica is an architectural marvel. The guide there was outstanding. Our guide for the walking tour, Nil, was extraordinary. He gave us a marvelous walking tour of the Gothic Quarter and was very attentive to our interests. Highly recommend.
  3. Excellent, excellent, excellent. Well worth the money honey! Brilliant architecture, commentary and pace of tour. Our guide was sensitive to the mobility needs of her group and knowledgeable in her anecdotes that personalised this Catalan experience. Picasso was a genius, Gaudi was a genius and our guide IS a genius!!! Thank you Viator.
  4. Couldn't have better. Our guide, Nil, was charming, well informed and went to great lengths to provide us the best tour we had on the entire trip. Barcelona is a wonderful city, and he really made it come alive for us.
  5. I took the tour on 10/5. Can't remember the name of the tour guide but he was a young Catalan and he was great. Very knowledgeable and nice. He took us to some interesting sights. We would have liked to tip him but the tour was so pricey (like $115USD pp and we were 4 of us) that we felt like we already paid too much.
