What will you find?

Where else but Europe can you visit three countries in one day? After an early start from Barcelona, you’ll be in the Spanish village of Baga by 8:30am, surrounded by the rocky peaks of Cadi-Moixero National Park.

Explore Baga’s central square and medieval church before crossing the border into France in time for breakfast in the walled town of Mont-Louis. After traditional French fare of croissants and café au lait, explore the town’s 17th-century fortified citadel, designed by Vauban and protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Leaving Mont-Louis at 11am, you’ll take a scenic drive over the Pyrenees Alps into neighboring Andorra, to the capital Andorra la Vella. Explore Romanesque churches and stone houses in the city’s old quarter, and enjoy lunch in a traditional Andorran restaurant (own expense).

After lunch, you have the choice of hitting Andorra la Vella’s tax-free shops for bargain-priced wine and souvenirs, or hitting the mountain trails surrounding the River Madriu and visiting the Romanesque church of St Miquel d’Engolasters.

The return drive to Barcelona departs Andorra la Vella at 4pm, dropping into Coll de Nargo for a late-afternoon drink en route. Admire Coll de Nargo’s Romanesque church of St Climent and stunning valley views before continuing the drive back to Barcelona, arriving at around 7pm in time for pre-dinner drinks and tapas or whatever else your evening holds.

  1. A friend and I took the Three-Countries-in-One-Day excursion on March 19, 2014. We had a fantastic experience! Our guide Nicholas was smart, funny, personable, spoke six languages (!) and had great information to share about the history and current events of all the places we visited. It was so nice to get out and see a bit of the countryside without having to bother with rental cars and directions etc. We had Nicholas plus seven people in an 8-person minivan which was very comfortable. Baga was a beautiful little town. We enjoyed walking around Mont Louis and had a nice breakfast there. The trip into Andorra was a bit of a novelty, although I would love to go back to ski. We got to have a nice lunch and explore the shopping district. I was pleasantly surprised as I was expecting a cruise-ship-port kind of thing but really it's more of an outdoor mall with mid- and high-end boutique and department stores, tourist trinket shops and some duty free shops. I was perfectly happy to spend a couple hours exploring and came away with a fun new handbag. Overall, I would definitely recommend this trip. And thanks to Nicholas for showing us such a good time!
  2. Absolutely amazing tour; I would do this again and again if the opportunity presented itself. Anna, the guide/driver; was fantastic. There are not enough words to describe her: friendly, personable, knowledgeable, accommodating; she could be my best friend. Anna was willing to stop so we could get our passports stamped at the border. She was fun and always made sure we were enjoying ourselves. If she were the guide for my other tours in Barcelona, they would also have been fantastic.
  3. The description of the tour was accurate. We stayed in time table very well. Our tour guide / driver was nice, polite and professional. He had good language skills and adequate knowledge of the tour targets. He also was a safe driver. The bus was modern and comfortable. I would recommend this trip to my friends without hesitation.
  4. Our guide Lydia was excellent, an on tap encyclopaedia of anything and everything to do with the history of Catalonia and Andorra. Both Baga and Mount Louis were interesting stops and the croissants were fab! The journey to Andorra is breathtakingly beautiful from the Montserrat Mountains as we left Barcelona to the Pyrenees as we entered Andorra. Andorra la Vell is a shoppers heaven, especially for booze and cigarettes. I highly recommend this trip, well worth the money and the early start.
  5. Absolutely AMAZING! The best day of my entire trip. Our guide Enrique is very knowledgeable, speaks very good English and accommodating. The only pity is we couldn't get our passports stamped at Andorra.
